Working in Cedar Grove
Four things worth knowing
We are the next village over
Our shop is at 1130 Michigan Ave in Oostburg, a short run up Highway 32 or one exit on I-43. Being local is not a slogan here; it is the reason a Cedar Grove address is an easy call to fit into a busy winter day rather than a trip somebody has to be talked into.
Lakeshore humidity, same as home
Cedar Grove sits in the same strip of lakeshore we live in, so summer air here carries real moisture. Cooling that kind of house well is about run time, not raw capacity — an oversized air conditioner hits the setpoint fast, shuts off before it has dried anything out, and leaves a cold, damp house.
Village core, and then farmland
Inside the village, most homes are on natural gas with conventional ducted systems. Head out past the edge and you find LP tanks, longer driveways and properties where a cold-climate heat pump or a dual-fuel setup changes the heating bill substantially. Those are two different quotes, and we do not confuse them.
We measure the incoming line voltage
Line voltage along this stretch of the county runs near the top of the legal ANSI range, and modern inverter-driven equipment does not tolerate that for long. It is a four-minute check that most contractors skip, and it explains a lot of the control boards that fail two years after an install.
Heating, cooling, ventilation and indoor air quality, including boilers and hydronic heat. No plumbing, water heaters or softeners — ask us and we will give you a name.

Furnace repair
No heat, short cycling, or a noise that started last night. Diagnose, quote, then fix.
Furnace repair
Air conditioning
Sized for a lakeshore house, which means sized for humidity rather than for the biggest number that fits.

Two visits a year, before heating season and before cooling season. The cheapest thing we sell and the one that prevents the most expensive calls.

Cedar Grove questions
Does Advanced Comfort Systems serve Cedar Grove?
Yes, and it is one of the closest villages to us. Our shop is at 1130 Michigan Ave in Oostburg, a few minutes up Highway 32. Call (920) 564-2333 Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, and the same number after hours.
How quickly can you get to a no-heat call in Cedar Grove?
Cedar Grove is one of the shortest drives we make, so it is among the easier addresses for us to fit into a winter day. We will not promise you a time on a web page, because during a cold snap every shop in the county is triaging at once — but call early rather than waiting to see if it sorts itself out, and you will be near the front of the list rather than the back.
Why does being near Lake Michigan affect air conditioner sizing?
Because near the lake much of the cooling work is removing moisture rather than lowering temperature. An oversized air conditioner reaches the thermostat setpoint quickly and shuts off before it has dehumidified the house, which leaves a home that is cool and still feels damp. Right-sizing produces longer run times and a drier, more comfortable house at the same setting.
I am outside the village on LP. What should I be looking at?
Get a heat pump quoted alongside the like-for-like furnace replacement. Propane costs considerably more per unit of heat than natural gas, so a cold-climate heat pump, or a dual-fuel setup that pairs one with your existing furnace, usually undercuts LP by a wide margin over a season. More on heat pumps here.
Will you work on a system you did not install?
Yes. We install Carrier and Mitsubishi and we service every major brand. Most of the equipment we look after was put in by somebody else.
Do you do plumbing or water heaters?
No. We are heating, cooling, ventilation and indoor air quality only. Boilers and hydronic or radiant heat are ours, because hot-water heating is a heating system rather than plumbing, but water heaters, softeners and drains are not.
We are practically down the road.
Tell us the address and what the system is doing. If it is an emergency, call rather than type.
