Nearly all American homes were once heated with hot water or steam. Hot water systems, introduced in the U.S. in 1842, became very popular in the late 1880s and hot water became the dominant heating system for homes. By 1900, the free-standing cast iron boiler appeared.
Gas-fired furnaces became popular after World War I. Today, most homes in the Midwest are heated with gas-fired, forced air furnaces which blow warm air through ductwork and air vents. Unlike boilers, that blowing air can contain pathogens, allergens, dust and other contaminants. Many people have returned to hydronic heating, since boilers don’t blow that polluted air throughout a home or business and are friendlier to the environment. While boilers are great options for heating, they don’t provide a way to cool and may not be ideal for every home or business budget. Let us help you determine whether a boiler makes sense by evaluating your current heating system and providing a free quote.

As a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer, we proudly recommend Carrier products but provide repair for all boiler brands, models and makes, just like we do for furnaces. We follow strict service standards to keep our technicians up to date on the latest boiler technology. Although we are not able to convert your existing boiler to other fuel types—oil to gas, for example—our factory-trained boiler technicians will replace it, if needed.
Once we’ve installed your boiler system, let Advanced Comfort continue to care for it with preventive maintenance. An annual boiler cleaning and inspection means your system will last longer and encounter fewer problems. We’ll also carefully inspect it to see that it continues to operate at peak performance.
In addition to flushing the boiler by removing sediment and sludge, we will check and clean all the parts and components of your system. We’ll check for lime buildup and signs of deterioration in addition to inspecting for leaks, faulty valves and defective gaskets. Before we start work, ask us about our maintenance agreement plans.
